Jesus Christ, Son of God
As the people were filled with expectation, and all were questioning
in their hearts concerning John, whether he might be the Messiah,
John answered all of them by saying,
"I baptize you with water; but one who is more powerful than I is coming;
I am not worthy to untie the throng of his sandals.
He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire."
- Luke 3:15-16
Miraculous Healer
Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom,
and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people.
The news about Him spread throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all who were ill,
those suffering with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, paralytics; and He healed them.
- Matthew 4:23-24
Living water
Christ said, "Whoever believes in me,
as the Scripture has said,
'Out of His heart will flow rivers of living water.'"
-John 7:38
Light of the world
Jesus said, "I am the light of the world.
He who follows me will not walk in the darkness,
but will have the Light of life."
- Matthew 8:12
Christ, Son of God
Christ said, "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
- Matthew 11:27-30
Christ on Prayer
But you, when you pray, go into your inner room,
close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret,
and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
- Matthew 6:6
Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.
- Luke 7:50
Seek first God's kingdom & righteousness
Christ teaches us in Matthew 6:26-34:
"Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns,
and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?
And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?
And why are you worried about clothing?
Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil or spin, yet I say to you
that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.
But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow thrown into the heap,
will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!
So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
For the Gentiles run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
But seek first His kingdom and righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.
So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own."
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer,
believe that you have received it,
and it will be yours.
- Mark 11:24
For there is one God,
and there is one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus.
- 1 Timothy 2:5
His name is Yeshua,
which means, "God Saves"
Three passages on CHRIST Jesus
Three passages of importance can be found in the book of the Acts of the Apostles telling us three critical, important things.
First, that Jesus was the Christ (Messiah, Anointed of God), -Acts 3:13-18. Secondly, that he rose from the dead, -Acts 1:22. And third, that salvation was by faith in His name. -Acts 2:38, 3:16, 4:12.
His name was Yeshua, which means, 'God Saves.'
And they shall all be taught of God
No man can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him;
and I will raise him up on the last day.
It is written in the Prophets, "AND THEY SHALL ALL BE TAUGHT OF GOD.'
Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to me.
Not that anyone has seen the Father, except the One who is from God;
He has seen the Father.
- John 6:44-46 & Isaiah 54:13
My mother and My brothers are those who
hear the word of God and do it.
- Luke 8:21
The High Priestly Prayer
Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said,
"Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You,
even as You gave Him authority over all flesh,
that to all whom You have given Him, he may give eternal life."
- John 17:1-2
Believe
If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord,
and believe in your heart that God saved Him from the dead, you will be saved.
- Romans 10:9
Miraculous Faith
And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.
- Matthew 21:22
Christ among us
Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask,
it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.
For where two or three are gathered in my name,
there I am among them.
- Matthew 18:19-20
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
- Philippians 4:13
Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven?
This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven,
will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.
- Acts 1:11
understanding future events
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of Truth.
- 2 Timothy 2:15
To understand and interpret prophetic events with accuracy is a challenge under any circumstance. However, many choose not to spend the time necessary to study the prophetic Scriptures, or to dig into God's Word, primarily because the task makes tremendous demands on one's spirit and intellect.
Others do not wish to be regarded as sensational, but this is unfortunate, because the event of Christ's return is a sensational event. The future fact that the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven (Matthew 24:29) will be a sensational moment in history. Christ's return is our blessed hope as well as a comforting hope (1 Thessalonians 4:18). It is also a purifying hope (1 John 3:2,3) and a hope that will earn one a special crown (2 Timothy 4:7,8).
LET US PRAY
We acknowledge our desperate need for God, for God is the source of all life. God is life. God, we pray; we are powerless without you. We acknowledge our deep need for you. Remove any delusion we might have that we are something more, when we are nothing without You.
We rely on your rich guidance and wisdom. Please edify our lives, grant us understanding, teach us Your ways, for we trust in you, God, for our divine and spiritual knowledge, for our understanding of life, and we humbly find ways to share the goods of the earth, and the goods of our world with others, knowing that God made the world for all, not just for the few.
We place our attention and trust on you, God, for You are omnipotent, brilliant and wise beyond our understanding; You, God, are understanding, intelligence, boundless, unfathomable, exact, precise, perfection, Truth, clarity, wisdom, all-knowing, steadfast, revealing, fulfilling, illuminating, self-sustaining, anticipating, abundant, diverse, boundless, expansive, true, dependable, helpful, kind, loving, generous, diverse, unforgetful, thoughtful, patient, organized, immortal, everlasting, without end. +J
